The board of Our Deaf Survivors Center, Inc. (ODSC) is thrilled to announce that ODSC has received a three (3) years grant of $450,000 from “Grant for Outreach and Services to Underserved Populations". With this grant, ODSC has begun searching for an executive director, we’ve hired a victim advocate, as well as increased current hours for Kristen Crossen, Clinical Supervisor and Samantha Kistner, Cultural Broker. Samantha will work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. We welcome our newest hired staff, Rebecca Szynkowski, as our Victim Advocate, who recently started and will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Here’s a short introduction to Rebecca. She was born and raised on the West coast and has moved around to 7 different states before landing here in Massachusetts. So let’s welcome her! She is thrilled to be living in our Patriot’s state! Her passion is to work with the Deaf community providing mental health and domestic violence services. Rebecca’s 3 plus years of experience began with her studies at Gallaudet University, where she majored in social work. Her goals are to promote working with victims/survivors of sexual and domestic violence by offering them a supportive, healing, and empowering journey that encourages their self-growth, as well as train the Deaf community on understanding domestic violence and how to be a supportive ally. Please join us in welcoming Rebecca to ODSC and to MASS!

ODSC will continue sending updates with more news about future actions/plans and hopefully that we’ve found and hired an executive director.

She will be working on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 5pm.

She can be reached by VP at 508-534-8424 and email at vaodsc2021@gmail.com.

Please welcome Rebecca!!
